#74: Recreate Identity on the Internet
The Internet is as playground
I am always exploring some new Internet personality: a person who productized their “passion” into an online brand. I hear them speak on podcasts, and watch their videos. I save their quotes and read their blog posts. But I know nothing about them as people. All I know about them is what they chose to share. In fact, it’s irrelevant who they are because all that matters is the value they provide.
The Internet is a playground. Come, play, and get what you want. I don’t want you to be X or Y. Yes, you can use whatever you want on the playground and you can meet anyone you want. Whether you come or don’t, I don’t care.
Creating a persona on the Internet is like coming to college: here is another chance to give your persona another shot. When no one knows me yet, and no one is watching me, I can make the decisions about what I want to be. I choose who is it that I want to be. I choose a name. I choose the design. So I wonder:
