#147: How to Get Un-Hurt
enter the dark place I’ve been avoiding
What does it mean to be hurt? To feel pain as a result of a shock. Pain is a sign that myself is not ready for the hit that I experienced. I am fragile at that specific point, so a certain pressure causes a rapture.
What does it mean to get un-hurt? To go through the entire cycle from a bleeding wound to a vulnerable scar to a small scab and to eventually strengthening the point of rapture so it’s not fragile anymore. Physical pain is guided by physical laws, so a broken bone needs a specific amount of time to go through the recovery cycle. Yet, for emotional pain, there is a way to artificially accelerate the healing.
What is that way? Allow myself to feel all the pain at once. Feel and embrace the nastiest feelings stemming from the shock. Accept the fears looming around in my head. Do not rationalize the pain. Do not delay feeling it. Similar to acting on inspiration, once I am in this place of “hurt”, I want to go all the way into it. I want to enter the dark place I’ve been avoiding. Out of self-love, I want to leave no residue feelings for me to have to address later.
