Endless sources of pain, dissatisfaction and anger
I am very very angry because I am very very hurt. You were not attentive to me when I wanted you to notice. You were not kind to me when I needed your help. You did not do what you promised. You left me alone……………… Endless pain, dissatisfaction, and anger.
The nature of the human contract is such that any person will inevitably cause me tremendous pain. When I want something from you, I will inevitably grow upset with your inability or unwillingness to give that to me. For as long as I hope for you to be a certain way, I will continue to be hurt in the face of how you really are.
Why am I hurt? Because I consider myself so very important as to have the right to demand something from you. So the source of my pain is not your “misbehavior” but my expectation of your “behavior”. Therefore, I deserve to be hurt. So my anger transforms and I say:
