#103: Eradicate All Friction
Friction keeps the timid ones at the door
The very ability to be doing X full-time is half the battle. It’s a victory over the tremendous forces of friction that keep the timid ones at the door. Before a creator can create, he must conquer his very right for creation. Before he can begin, he must seize his domain for creation.
Roadblocks in the external world direct the majority towards non-creation. Internally, friction reveals itself as self-sabotage, excuses, apologies, and delays. The purpose of any friction is to engage a creator in addressing the irritations rather than creating: it’s a distraction!
How do I even know how good of a creator I am? All I’ve been doing is putting out fires of problems and fulfilling expectations. I have not engaged in pure undisturbed creation. Therefore, my success depends not on how hard I work. It depends on the extent to which I free my domain of all forms of friction. So I ask myself:
